1798---- 5th (Rifle) Bn formed as first rifle corps in the Army

1816-1819---- 1st Bn, 4th Bn, 5th Bn, 6th Bn, 7th Bn and 8th Bn disbanded, leaving:
1st Battalion, redesignation of 2nd Battalion
2nd Battalion, redesignation of 3rd Battalion

1824.---- 60th (The Duke of York's Own Rifle Corps and Light Infantry) Regiment of Foot
ceased being a colonial corps and adopted green uniform of disbanded 5th Battalion, with one rifle battalion and one light infantry battalion; named for Frederick Augustus, Duke of York)
1824.---- 60th (The Duke of York's Own Rifle Corps) Regiment of Foot
light infantry battalion converted to rifles
1830.---- 60th (The King's Royal Rifle Corps) Regiment of Foot

1889---- County of London formed from parts of Middlesex, Kent and Surrey
1908.---- 2nd Vol Bn , 4th Vol Bn, 5th Vol Bn , 6th Vol Bn, 7th Vol Bn, 8th Vol Bn, 9th Vol Bn, 10th Vol Bn and 11th Vol Bn transferred to The London Regiment upon creation of T.F., and non-Middlesex Militia affiliations ceased
1916.---- 6th Bn , 9th Bn, 11th Bn , 12th Bn, 15th Bn, and 16th Bn of The London Regiment re-affiliated
