The Honour Roll searched is the Roll produced in 1921 and published by Hayward & Son in association with The Imperial War Museum. These are now made available by Savannah Books for which we give grateful thanks.

Date of Death. killed on 21st January 1916 in France whilst serving with the Durham Light Infantry 14th Batallion. He is buried at Lijssenthoek War Cemetery. Belgium. Ref: II.C.35.
Additional information. Husband of Annie Louise Bannister. (nee Wallace) and father of Emily and Mary. 4 Bowlam Street. Spennymoor. Co. Durham.
Private Bannister has 10 living descendants as of this date 20th November 2006. We honour his gallantry in defending our freedom. R.I.P..

Remembered with honour, PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Comines-Warneton, Hainaut, Belgium.

Son of Herbert and Mary Stanley, of Hallam Rd., Southwell, Notts.

2nd Bn., Durham Light Infantry who died on Thursday, 21st March 1918. Age 20.
