| Message : | I am trying to research my grand fathers army career during the 2nd ww. Major R.G.Tapper I know landed in Normandy with the Royal berkshire regiment and then moved to the 1 Hereford Regiment staying with them throughout the push through north-west europe. he was awarded the MC at Birgate on the 1st April 1945 where 21 members of the regiment were killed. He carried on and I believe he was the arresting office of admiral Donitz at Schloss Glocksburg. If anyone has any information, memories, or photos I would be most gratful. |

| Message : | A relative, Pte Roy Philip Holloway, is shown on the CWGC site as killed on 1 March 1945 and buried in Reihwald Cemetery. That site quoted him as a member of the 1 Bn KSLI. However I believe that the 1Bn KSLI were in Italy at that time. I have been told that the Army Roll of Honour list him as serving in the Hereforfd having transferred from the Hampshires and not the KSLI. I am in the process of putting together a tribute to all my family members who gave their lives in the Wars. Can anyone confirm that he was with the Hereford Lght Infantry? Thank you David |

| Message : | I would like to hear from anyone who served with my late-grandfather, ex-C/Sgt LEN PEMBER, 4105128. I am researching his service career and would like to hear from anyone who has relevant information, recollections, anecdotes, photos, etc. He joined the 2nd BATTALION, THE HEREFORDSHIRE REGT in March 1939, and became a Corporal (acting Platoon Sgt) in Carrier Platoon. He stayed with 2nd Bn until August 1942, when he transferred to the Glider Pilot Regt, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sgt. In 1946, he 'passed through' the KSLI, as a Colour Sgt, en route to demob. More generally, are there any photos of 2nd Bn during the period 1939-1942? If so, I would be extremely interested to see them. Any assistance in piecing together a clearer picture of my grandfather's service career shall be greatly appreciated. |

| Message : | Thank you for providing me with an opportunity to widen my family history research. I am new to this hobby, so I hope you will bear with me. I am seeking information on a Matthew Francis Green who is my Great-great-grandfather - born in 1832. From information I have received, he is reported to have enlisted in the 36th Herefordshire Regiment in Newcastle-On-Tyne, England at the age of 14 as a drummer boy. He later married my great-great-grandmother Adelaide Constance Brennan and eventually died in Tasmania, Australia in 1907. Any help or assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated not only by myself, but by my father to whom this research will be dedicated. Thank you in anticipation. |

| Message : | I am a History teacher, at Whitecross High School in Hereford. I am about to lead a residential fieldtrip with students to the Normandy area, focussing on the Allied landings of 1944. I am particularly interested in information about Hill 112 and the efforts to take and hold this position. I would be very grateful for any information anyone can let me have, nothing is too small or insignificant. Many thanks |
